Michael Skolnik is an entrepreneur, an activist, and a storyteller.
From 2009-2015, Skolnik served as the President of GlobalGrind.com, a millennial-driven news website founded by hip-hop impresario, Russell Simmons. This platform gave him a leadership role in the new social justice movement, where he participated in national conversations about America's relationship with race, the death of Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown and Eric Garner, the Boston Marathon bombings, the rise of violence in Chicago and the Obama presidency, amongst many other topics. A social media trailblazer with 200,000 followers, Skolnik regularly discusses race, current events and how they affect his generation on many news outlets, including CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, NPR and HLN.
In 2016, Skolnik will launch his new venture, a creative agency focusing on social impact campaigns and triple bottom line companies.
He serves on the Board of Directors for The Trayvon Martin Foundation, The Drug Policy Alliance, Revolutions Per Minute, The Gathering For Justice and The Young Partners Board of The Public Theater.
Earlier in his career, Skolnik spent over a decade as an award-winning film director and producer. He is a graduate of UCLA.
